CR Lounge, in the old Louie's/Ixia space, is the new outpost of DC's Creme, a pioneer gentrifier of the U St. corridor.. Their DC lease is up soon, and they hope to move their Southern comfort food and rainbow-popular lounge scene here, hoping to recreate a bit of the old Louie's feel. Baltimore Photographer takes a walk-through during the book festival with a pocket still photography camera for a first look. It remains to be seen whether Baltimoreans will embrace the owners' friendliness and worldly take on comfort food and intimate social openness, which is highly popular in DC, and may be warm enough to melt any residual Ixia iciness.Baltimore news photographer Marty Katz http://baltimorephotographer.com
